Bluebonnet Season

Looks like it is starting to be bluebonnet and wild flower season! Where are some of your favorite spots to grab a pic?

The Loose Screw Beer House & Garden

The Loose Screw is one of my favorite weekend spots. Luckily living 2 blocks away make it an easy walk with the kids. It is located at Old Taylor High. Has a large outdoor area with lots of tables. Lot of room for kids to run around in the school fields. Food Trucks, live music, etc…

Oh yeah, they also have beer and wine. 42 rotating taps! Everyone is bound to find something they like. There are even non-alcoholic drinks.

Don and Tammy are awesome people. If you have some time on the weekend it is an easy drive and a nice way to spend the afternoon.

Dinosaur Tracks of Leander

Found out there were some Dinosaur tracks in our own “backyard.” So I had to take my little paleontologist. It is just a short half mile walk along the South San Gabriel River in Leander. Watch the for all the fun.

Coxville Zoo

From 1939 to 1970 Austin’s Zoo was the Coxville Zoo. Below is the old gate that use to lead into it. The old zoo as well as the cabins, or whats left of them, is located in what is now Walnut Creek Park. Walnut Creek Park trails are mainly used for mountain biking, so watch out if you are on foot, be polite and move out of their way.
